Charles is one of the most recognizable supporting character actors in the movies. After AMERICAN GRAFFITI, Smith went to work in PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID; SPIKE'S GANG; THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY; THE UNTOUCHABLES; and most recently, CONTACT. Like some of his fellow alumni, Smith is not content to just act - he directs as well. His directing credits include television's BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, and the films FIFTY/FIFTY and AIR BUD.
