THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN
Directed by: James Whale
"To a new world of gods and monsters!"
One of the most popular horror classics of time and acclaimed by critics as the greatest horror movie ever made, THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN is an all-time classic. This sequel to FRANKENSTEIN has Boris Karloff reprising his role as the misunderstood creature – but this time, he demands a mate! James Whale returns to direct Colin Clive, Ernest Thesiger and Elsa Lanchester as the Bride in a film that is darkly humorous, exciting and hauntingly original. The musical score was written by Franz Waxman and proved so popular that it was later reused in the FLASH GORDON and BUCK ROGERS movie serials later in the 1930’s. THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN was also used as the inspiration for many scenes in the recent GODS AND MONSTERS, the screen biography of James Whale.
BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, interestingly enough, is the last of the four horror films James Whale directed throughout his distinguished career.
A theatrical trailer accompanies this classic film in its newly digitally enhanced edition.
