THE INVISIBLE MAN
Directed by: James Whale
"All right, you fools. You brought it on yourselves. Everything would have come right if you've let me alone. You drove me near madness with your peering through the keyhole and your gaping through the curtains and now you'll suffer for it. You're crazy to know who I am, aren't you? All right, I'll show you! .....I'll show you who I am and what I am!"
Claude Rains delivers a remarkable and unforgettable performance in his screen debut as a mysterious doctor who discovers a serum that makes him invisible. Covered by bandages and dark glasses, Rains arrives at a small English village and attempts to hide his frightening discovery. But the same drug which renders him invisible is also slowly driving him mad, causing him to commit acts of unspeakable terror!
Based on the classic novel of horror by H.G. Wells, THE INVISIBLE MAN is directed by James Whale and was one of the director’s personal favorites. THE INVISIBLE MAN not only set the standard for special effects when it was first released, it also spawned several sequels throughout the 1930’s and 1940’s.
